Screen Yorkshire - Funding Agency - The Return of Nibiru

After auditioning Daz Kaye for the role of the Illuminati Leader, he suggested that we would be in with good chance of accessing funding for the production of "The Return of Nibiru" as a feature film. After looking over my treatment and and script he claimed he had worked on films with much less depth and individuality than this project, the place to start in terms of funding would be Screen Yorkshire, Daz went on to recommend Vision&Media. Screen Yorkshire is the regional screen agency for Yorkshire and Humber. Our mission is to inspire, promote and support the development of a successful film, TV, games and interactive media sector to grow the economic, social and cultural wealth of the region.

GETTING FUNDING FROM SCREEN YORKSHIRE

Screen Yorkshire has a number of funds which individuals or businesses can access. Our funds have specific targets which are set by our funders, Yorkshire Foward and UK Film Council, but we try to be as flexible as possible in supporting your career or business. Please be aware that our funds are made up of taxpayers' or lottery money and therefore there are strict criteria which each investment has to meet.

HOW TO ACCESS OUR PRODUCTION FUND

Screen Yorkshire Production Fund is a digital media content development and production fund, supported by Yorkshire Forward, our Regional Development Agency. It is an investment fund that will help to develop a long-term and successful production sector in the Yorkshire and Humber region. This fund does not give out grants - we will look for returns on our investments, such as benefits to the sector and money we might get back.

In partnership with other public and private sector financiers, we will invest in projects and companies to:

· nurture talent in Yorkshire and Humber
· attract people and productions to the region
· help establish markets and grow the regional production sector
· encourage creative and technical innovation
· encourage access for creative and business talent from all sectors of society
· attract new audiences

We support projects across the whole range of digital media activity, including:

· feature films (drama and documentary)
· television programming (drama and factual)
· video and computer games
· new media
