
Framestore is the largest Visual effects and computer animation studio in Europe, with over 20 years of experience in digital film and video technology. Our Framestore Summer Internships provide undergraduate students with the opportunity to experience work and life at Framestore, offering a valuable insight into our business and culture.
Framestore is situated in the West End of London, right in the heart of Soho. The culture of the company is young, vibrant, friendly and informal. Our offices are located on both sides of Oxford Street close to a vast array of shops, restaurants, bars and night clubs.
For the sixth year running we are offering students from across Europe the opportunity to spend 8 weeks working alongside our talented CG artists on current Film and Commercials projects. Eligible candidates should be about to enter their final year of study. We will expect students to have conducted research into the business and their chosen career path, and to have demonstrated a genuine commitment to that field.
We are offering Internships in the following business areas:
• 3D - Animation, Modelling, Technical Direction
• 2D - Roto-scoping, Compositing
• Commercials - Broadcast Post Production
• Engineering - Systems Engineering
Framestore has been creating world-beating visual effects for film and television for over twenty years. Our work has won numerous international awards, including the 2008 Academy & BAFTA Awards for our VFX on The Golden Compass, three BAFTA Craft Awards and thirteen Primetime Emmy Awards. The hundreds of projects on which we have worked include all of theHarry Potter films, Walking with Dinosaurs and its numerous sequels and spin-offs, many Bond titles and, recently, The Dark Knight
Framestore is always looking for Nuke compositors who would be interested in joining the 2D team in London.
• Compositors seamlessly integrate all the layers or elements of a shot, including live-action and computer graphic elements. Compositors work closely with Visual Effects Supervisors and CG Supervisors to composite the numerous elements that complete a visual effects shot.
We are looking for individuals with the following skills:
• Traditional artistic and design skills including a good knowledge of composition and colour.
• Technical knowledge of photography and practical lighting is helpful
• Compositors should have a good working knowledge of ‘Nuke’
• Shell scripting is a desirable skill
